RPS mods and downloads
Downloads and guides for the released Fallout 4 VR mods. Install each mod's requirements from its Nexus page and launch the game through F4SEVR.
Released mods
These five releases have public Nexus pages and main download files, checked on 13 September 2026. Use the linked pages for the latest files and known issues.
| Mod | What it adds | Download | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| ROCK | Physical hands, object interaction and weapon handling | Nexus Mods | ROCK |
| PAPER | Weapon reload and cycling animations coordinated with ROCK | Nexus Mods | PAPER |
| ROCK Wall Climbing | Climbing and pushing off surfaces with your hands | Nexus Mods | Wall Climbing |
| RPS UI Framework | Shared VR panels and controller input for other mods | Nexus Mods | UI Framework |
| RobCo PALM | Wheel menu, equipment, gestures, configuration and item spawner | Nexus Mods | PALM |
Choosing what to install
- Start with ROCK for physical interaction. It requires FRIK 0.79 / API 2.3 for current source, F4SEVR, and the VR Address Library.
- Add PAPER for animated reloads and cycling, or Wall Climbing for surface climbing. Both build on ROCK.
- Install RPS UI Framework and RobCo PALM for the wheel and settings panels. Their input works independently of ROCK; ROCK adds physical item handoffs and, with FRIK, hand gestures.
SCISSORS and PAPER Toolkit remain in development and are not part of this public download list. Physical equipping, hand switching and shoulder stashing belong to ROCK; no separate Immersive Weapons mod is needed.
Developer integration
RPS Framework is released with public source on GitHub. The RPS SDK provides public consumer headers and examples. See their guides below for installation and integration.
The runtime components, provider SDK and static engine library have different owners. Choose the interface that already owns the behavior you need.
| Component | Owns | Developer integration |
|---|---|---|
| ROCK | Hands, grabs, collision, equipped weapons and input | 13 modular interfaces, including Configuration |
| PAPER | Native reload/manual-cycle coordination and observations | PAPER V1 |
| SCISSORS | Human active-ragdoll and actor-physics lifecycle | Modular ROCK consumer; limited development export with actor grabbing disabled |
| RPS UI | World panels, stereo/depth composition and independent controller input | UI V1; consumer owns ImGui/backend and application policy |
| RobCo PALM | Configurable VR wheel menu for equipment, consumables, hand gestures and mod sections | RPS UI consumer with optional ROCK integration; native section API for other mods |
| RPS Framework | Checked FO4VR native bindings and reusable primitives | Static RPS::Addresses and RPS::Runtime targets |
| RPS SDK | Public headers and teaching consumers | Explicit RPS::ROCK<Family> targets, RPS::PAPER, RPS::UI; legacy aggregate RPS::SDK |
The runtime guides also document current source behavior, which can be newer than a Nexus download. ROCK interface major/minor/extent negotiation and local permissions, PAPER capabilities, and UI service discovery determine what a loaded DLL supports. The source contracts on these pages were checked on 20 September 2026; the historical download check above does not certify that later contract in a published file. A public release does not establish that every later source change has passed an in-game test.
Building a new mod
Use ROCK/PAPER copied state for gameplay observations, RPS UI for an interactive panel, and your own bounded application state between callback phases. Queue game or configuration mutations onto their documented thread. Use RPS Framework when the mod itself owns a native operation that no provider already handles. Keep product-specific arbitration in the product; do not duplicate ROCK's INI writer, PAPER's animation authority or SCISSORS' actor ownership in a UI widget.
